How often have you heard someone say, I've tried everything, but it just doesn't work. No matter what I do, I just can't achieve it. So to the person who says, I've tried it all, I've tried everything, I swear, this doesn't work. Is this really true? Yes or no? Do you believe they've really exhausted all options? Because most of the time what they're really saying is they've tried everything inside of their comfort zone and it's not working. But they haven't ventured outside their comfort zone yet. And big leaps, quantum leaps, can never happen while playing it safe. If you feel uncomfortable, you're doing it right. Inside of this circle, this little x is you. Everything outside of this circle represents everything that scares the hell out of you and makes you squirm, or causes you discomfort because it's outside of your normal circle. Here's Your normal day to day inside. Your work, taking care of your kids, making dinner, running errands, mowing the grass, putzing around. Most people don't actively seek to feel uncomfortable to be outside of that circle. They're seeking to be comfortable. When I've talked about changing your old beliefs into their opposite, for example, it never works out for me. Nothing ever works out. Changing that to its opposite into everything always works out for me. Quantum jumping out of your comfort zone is a similar thing. I'm going to choose to have the perspective of the opposite. You can choose to have the perspective of the opposite. When I'm wanting to level up I ask myself at the beginning of the day, What can I do today to be uncomfortable? Well, guess what? I'm doing it right now! This is one of the most uncomfortable things I do in my life. Getting this set up to be on camera. This happens all the time, and it's stressful. But at the end of my day, I can ask myself, What did I do today to get uncomfortable and what am I going to do tomorrow to get uncomfortable that will take me one tiny step closer to my ultimate goal, right? We all have these things inside of our comfort circle and the whole world is just waiting on the outside of that circle for you to get everything that you want in life. What small thing can you do today? To make yourself uncomfortable and get out of this circle. if you're comfortable, you're in your comfort zone. And there's no growth there. When you make yourself uncomfortable you stretch toward your goals, manifestations, reinventions of yourself and leveling up can then reach those quantum leaps. And striving through and past fear and into courage is really where life gets exciting. It's kind of boring staying on the inside, isn't it? What do you have outside of your comfort zone? Maybe you want to get healthier and start a new exercise program. You want to seek out new friendships. Go to a party that scares you. Take an art class. Start a YouTube channel. Scheduling time in your own day to work on something that you really want to have happen in your life that you haven't given yourself time to do yet. Maybe learning a new sport like pickleball. Carving out time to learn to write or meditate or dream about something new. Read about something new you might be interested in to find out what you're interested in. But giving yourself permission to explore the things you like outside of that comfort zone. They don't have to be jumping out of airplane big things. They can be small things that stretch you on a daily basis. The point is, you want to pick something from that list outside of your circle each and every day and ask yourself that one question at the beginning and end of the day. What single thing can I do today that takes me out of the comfort zone? Now, before we explore further with this, let's define what is a comfort zone really. It's a psychological state where you feel familiar, at ease, without stress and anxiety. It's a behavioral space where activities and routines fit a certain pattern that minimize stress and risk. While being in one's comfort zone can provide a sense of security and confidence, it often implies sticking to familiar tasks and routines and situations, which might actually hinder personal growth and development. So stepping out of one's comfort zone involves taking risks, facing challenges, and exploring new experiences, which can lead to higher growth in life. I've been reinventing many areas of my life fairly assertively for a while now. And when I know that the next level that I want to take is going to be a quantum leap to get an extraordinary result, I have to ask myself how comfortable were my actions today. You should ask yourself that question too. What single thing did you do today to make yourself uncomfortable? Because remember, each small step that makes you uncomfortable is when you're going to grow. Quantum leaps happen when you take even bigger challenges that scare you. So if you're someone growing a new business and you say you've tried everything and it's not working. Have you tried really amping up your marketing with new methods? Yeah, you've tried them all? Full scale digital marketing and advertising? Hmm. Have you tried speaking to groups of people to gain more leads? No, you can't do that because you don't want to speak in public. Then bingo, that's the thing you should do. Go get uncomfortable, my friends. Go speak in public. You have not done everything you can do until you have exhausted your comfort zone. Don't quit. Keep trying new things and face those fears because how comfortable are you today? How uncomfortable are you today? If you're someone who struggles knowing what to do next with yourself, maybe you don't know what your purpose is in life, but you want to, or you feel confused about what to do after retirement. But at the same time you say, I've tried everything. I don't know what I want to do. No matter what, I can't figure it out. Have you tried writing a list of things that you might like? Okay, how about trying out a hobby outside of that circle that scares you? Something you might think that you might like, but you won't know if you like it until you try it. You just don't know. Trying one thing after another until you find what you like, especially when the things make you uncomfortable is how it's done. How comfortable will your actions be tomorrow? For us adventurous souls, travel is more than just ticking off places on a bucket list. It's a journey of self discovery. But even after exploring the ends of the earth and diving into new cultures, you might still feel like something's missing. Ever considered straying off the tourist path, getting lost in local vibes, or embarking on a solo adventure? Embrace the unknown. Seek out those new experiences beyond that comfort zone. This could be the ticket to uncovering your true self and finding your place in the world. Even after retirement, my friends. We all have areas in our life where we want to grow and improve and step out and do something a little bit different. Plan one of those X's outside of that circle today.
